I’m so excited to share Sherline and Cody’s destination engagement session at Sterling State Park! This was my first time visiting Michigan for a session, and it did not disappoint! Sterling State Park was about halfway for us to meet, and it was such a neat park. It was incredible how there were trees along the beach; that was something I’d never seen before.

Cody and Sherline wanted something different and unique for their engagement photos. We decided the beach would be the perfect location. This was my first official beach session, so I was pumped! They wanted to get into the water and not just splash around; wait until you see the fun and adventure we took with this session! I’m so glad they trusted me because we got amazing pictures.

Sherline and Cody are SUCH a sweet couple!! It’s like we have been friends forever because we could talk for hours. A few days before their engagement session, they received their welcome box, which included a bridal guide full of wedding planning tips. Sherline told me that she had already read it line by line and loved it! It always makes me so happy to give my brides resources that genuinely help them in their wedding planning process.

These two met through mutual friends while they were in college. Once they met, they clicked right away and knew there was something special there! After dating three years, Cody decided it was time to ask Sherline to marry him. He decided to take her to Heritage Park in Farmington Hills, Michigan, one of their favorite spots to watch the sunset, and of course, she said yes!

They will be having their wedding in Marquette, Michigan, next June and I can’t wait!! Their vision of what their wedding day will be like sounds incredible. I can’t wait to photograph this destination wedding!

It was a hot and humid night, and the beach was packed, but it was so enjoyable exploring a new park with one of my 2022 couples. Even though we were on the shore of Michigan, there was some driftwood there that reminded me a lot of Driftwood Beach on Jekyll Island!
