Engagement Session at Genoa Park | Casidi + Ryne

A few weeks ago I roamed around with Casidi and Ryne for their engagement session at Genoa Park. We had to reschedule the session a few times, so I was stoked to finally meet up to take these pictures for them! We could not have asked for better weather, plus there really weren’t too many people around.

Casidi and Ryne met while they were both working at a hotel in Columbus. Since I have worked at a hotel before, it was so fun to have this in common with both of them! With my degree being in hospitality management, I geek out a little when talking about hotels or anything travel-related. The hotel Ryne currently works at is building on a huge addition and it was interesting to hear all about it.

Their proposal story is adorable! Ryne surprised her by taking her up to the rooftop of the hotel where they met. As they enjoyed the view of downtown, he got down on one knee and asked Casidi to marry him. She said it was the quickest yes of her life! She was so surprised! How cute is it that he took her back to where their love story started?!

Having the backdrop of downtown Columbus was perfect for them since this is where their love story began! I love shooting at Scioto Mile as it gives such an alluring skyline view. As you can tell by their pictures, they have a blast together! They were such pros at getting into poses with each other, but mostly they had fun!
These two are getting married this summer on Jekyll Island. Casidi’s family has been vacationing there for a few summers, so they thought, why not have the wedding there! I mean, I don’t blame them one bit! I love the beach, so a wedding on Jekyll Island sounds absolutely perfect, and I am super jealous!

It was so much fun getting to know these two and I wish them nothing but the best! Enjoy these pictures from their engagement session.

  1. […] First up on my list is Scioto Mile and Genoa Park! I am a major city girl at heart, so if you’re like me and love the Columbus skyline, then this location will be perfect for you! Genoa Park is right behind COSI, and you can park right there, which is great for convenience. Believe it or not, the backside of COSI is dreamy! It’s like we time traveled to Europe. The architecture is something you would see in Paris, and it gives your photos a look of elegance! The steps leading down towards the river also make for a great spot to grab some photos. If you take a short walk, the Main Street bridge also has a dedicated side for pedestrians, so we don’t have to worry about traffic! One of my favorite spots along the Scioto Mile is photographing underneath one of the bridges! It’s very bright and clean looking, and sometimes these photos can be my favorite. Lastly, at this location is the cityscape in the background of your pictures. Check out some of my favorite images below from past Scioto Mile and Genoa Park engagements. […]
