Lovely Spring Wedding on Hilton Head Island

Wedding on Hilton Head Island

This spring wedding on Hilton Head Island was a chilly and windy day. While living in Atlanta, they planned their destination wedding in Hilton Head. Trip and Erica are such lovely people, and I’m so happy to have been hired as their destination wedding photographer!

As I arrived at their Hilton Head wedding venue, I saw a cardinal near my car. My family has visited HHI for the past 11 years, and it was always my Great Grandma’s favorite place to visit. We have always seen a cardinal every time we are there since she passed away. I knew right when I saw the bird that it was her saying hello. I knew it would be a great wedding day from that moment on!

Hilton Head Wedding Venue:

A few minutes before crossing the bridge over onto Hilton Head Island, South Carolina, you’ll find the Moss Creek community. This southern coastal community hosts two gorgeous wedding venues! Their clubhouse is currently going through renovations and will be open in the next coming year.

Important Information About Getting Married in Moss Creek:

Bostwick Pavilion:

Erica and Trip had their wedding at the Bostwick Pavilion, which was the perfect setting for their big day! Bostwick Pavilion can hold up to 130 guests seated. It faces Mackay’s Creek and has a beautiful view of the marsh. The deck can accommodate 60 guests and is an excellent place for cocktail hour and dancing. Inside the Pavilion is an inside bar, but you can also have an outside bar. When getting married at this Hilton Head wedding venue, you can have your ceremony underneath a big oak tree with Spanish moss or on the deck.

Why Should a Couple Book Moss Creek as Their Wedding Venue?

From looking at Trip and Erica’s wedding day photos, you’ll see the beauty of their wedding on Hilton Head Island. One of the best things about Moss Creek is that you don’t have to get into the hustle and bustle of the island. This Hilton Head wedding venue is as beautiful as any other Lowcountry venue. With its marsh and creek views and trees dripping with Spanish moss, it’s picture perfect.

Amount to reserve your date:

When booking your Moss Creek wedding, you will put $1,000 down. This amount will reserve your wedding date and go towards your final invoice!

Do you have to be a member of moss creek?

Having a membership is not required to host your wedding at Moss Creek. Since it is a gated community, you can call or email the venue coordinator and set up a time to tour the venue!

Hilton Head Wedding Attire:

Erica looked absolutely beautiful, and she was the epitome of an elegant, southern bride. She got her wedding dress from Anne Barge Bridal Atelier located in Atlanta. Her gown was a chic strapless dress with an arched pleated neckline cuff. Her classy look was completed with dazzling earrings. Erica’s mother had given her a pair of blue earrings that belonged to her grandmother, and she attached them to her bouquet. Erica’s bridesmaids wore a dusty sage V-neck dress from David’s Bridal. Trip wore a navy blue tuxedo from Ike Behar.

Once the two of them were ready for their big day, I lined them up for a first look. As soon as Trip turned around, he had tears in his eyes. As they had written letters to each other, they exchanged them and read them to themselves. It was such a precious moment to see Trip reread his letter as we were taking Erica’s bridal portraits.

Their wedding ceremony at Moss Creek was under a beautiful big oak tree with Spanish moss dripping off the branches. Erica’s father was the one to marry them, and he did such a great job. They had a unity ceremony where they each took two different colors of sand and poured them into one vase.

Destination Wedding in Hilton Head

They had a fun reception, and everyone loved dancing the night away on the deck underneath bistro lights. Trip and Erica ended their evening with a balloon exit and then rode away on a golf cart.

It was SUCH a joy to travel down to Hilton Head for my first destination wedding! I’m so glad Erica and Trip allowed me to photograph their beautiful wedding day in my favorite place. Their family and friends were so sweet and welcoming, and I appreciated their southern hospitality!

Just as the day started with the symbolism of a cardinal, I saw a shooting star on my way back to The Westin Savannah. Check out some of my favorites from Trip and Erica’s wedding on Hilton Head Island!

Kind Words From Erica:

“Lexi is absolutely amazing!! She photographed our wedding in Hilton Head Island in April 2022. From the beginning she was so polite and professional while we met to discuss our big day. She sent an amazing detailed timeline so we were all on track. This was so helpful as we had so many family photos to take and we could let everyone know where to be when. My husband and I really got to enjoy our day, not to mention cocktail hour, as she kept us right on schedule! She is so fun, personable and is there to truly make your day enjoyable! Her second photographer was also so amazing and fun! We had a lot of requests for different photos and she did all of those and more! We were so excited to have our sneak peek only 4 days after the wedding!! It was the cutest slideshow that had our first dance song playing as we looked through it. They are absolutely gorgeous and no detail goes unnoticed. Because of Lexi we will have our special day to relive over and over and over! We told her that will not be the last time she photographs us as we plan to have her do our family photos in the future! Thank you so much Lexi! We cannot recommend her enough!”
