I was so excited to meet Molly and Clay for their engagement session at Scioto Mile in downtown Columbus! We first started their session out on Ohio State University’s campus. That’s where these two met, and eventually fell in love! It’s always fun to go on campus and photograph some fellow Buckeyes. After that, we headed to Scioto Mile, which is one of my favorite spots for sessions!

Clay and Molly met at Ohio State, where they were both majoring in Agricultural Engineering. One day, they were both riding the bus out to the Ag campus and sat next to each other. They both had their eye on one another and couldn’t wait to talk. They both remember getting off the bus and feeling like they knew that they had met their person! How crazy is that? After they continued having conversations in class and labs, they both knew they felt the same way for each other. They eventually became official, and two years later, they graduated together and were only eight spots away from each other in line!

These two have almost been engaged for a year already! Clay had the ring a few months before actually proposing, as he was waiting on just the perfect time. They took a trip to Gatlinburg about a year ago, and he knew that was the ideal time to propose. While they were adventuring around Cades Cove one day, and when they got to Abram’s Falls Trail, it was pouring rain! They decided to do the hike anyway and make the best of it. Once they got to the waterfall, the rain had cleared, and it was stunning. As they were admiring the falls, Clay started giving the sweetest speech and then turned Molly around. At this point, he was down on one knee, and Molly was shocked and immediately said yes! The best part about their proposal story? Since it had been raining, they were the only ones at the falls! How perfect is that?

Molly had told me that soon after they were engaged, a friend (one of my past clients) told her that she had to have me photograph their wedding. She didn’t want me to think she was crazy reaching out too soon, but Molly was so excited.

I can’t wait to photograph their wedding next May at Swan Lake Event Center! I know it’ll be amazing!
