Wedding at Swan Lake Event Center | Molly and Clay

Powell Ohio Wedding in Spring

Molly and Clay’s Wedding at Swan Lake Event Center was on a beautiful spring day. Despite the rain shower, we had right before the ceremony started, it was a glorious day!

I was excited to photograph their big day because Swan Lake Event Center is my absolute FAVORITE wedding venue in Columbus! Their wedding coordinators, are seriously the best and are so helpful! There is something so romantic about this Powell wedding venue’s sprawling and gorgeous property that lends itself beautifully to photographs.

As I arrived, Molly had many gorgeous bridal details for me to photograph, and she provided her own velvet ring boxes! My collection of ring boxes is always brought, but when you have your own, you can customize it. Molly and her bridesmaids wore matching robes while they were getting ready in the morning. It’s always a cute photo opportunity when you and your girls have matching robes, pajamas, etc. The Willow Parlor makes the perfect space for you and your bridesmaids to get ready.

Once both Clay and Molly were ready for their big day, they read individual letters from one another. I got Molly’s father lined up for a father/daughter first look. When Molly tapped him on the shoulder and turned around, his reaction was precious! They shared some tears and laughs, and it was a cherished moment.

Both Molly and Clay looked elegant in their wedding attire. Molly wore a Martina Liana wedding gown from The Dress Bridal Boutique. Clay’s gray tuxedo came from Romanoff’s Classic Tuxedos.

About fifteen minutes before the ceremony, it started to rain. Since Clay and Molly hired a fantastic wedding vendor team, everything was able to be moved inside in about ten minutes. Their coordinator from Swan Lake and I were so excited about their ceremony because it was going to be the first wedding ceremony in The Meadow! Though they couldn’t get married out there, I still captured a few photos of how it would’ve looked.

After their ceremony, we wandered around the property finding all the magical spots for wedding photos at Swan Lake Event Center. In some pictures, we even got lucky and had two swans visit us. For convenience, Swan Lake provides access to a golf cart, which makes it convenient, so you don’t have to walk too far.

The Flowerman did all of the florals, and they looked radiant!! Molly and her bridesmaids had a fun night out and put together their own bouquets. The Flowerman is one of my favorite florists in Columbus because they have the fun option of do-it-yourself.

At Swan Lake Event Center, your grand introduction as newlyweds can be over the top! You can be introduced from the balcony and wave down to all your guests. It’s always fun to get everyone pumped up for the big party you’re about to have. There were tears in almost everyone’s eyes after Molly’s father gave the sweetest speech ever. He said, “raise your hand if Molly has ever made you smile.” Everyone in the room raised their hand.

Guests were traveling from all over, and it was wonderful to have all of their loved ones together! Everyone stayed at the AC Hotel by Marriott Columbus Dublin, which is just a quick 20-minute drive to the venue. The Bridge Park area has so many fun things to do and places to eat, not to mention the rooftop bar, Vaso on the hotel.

These two went on their honeymoon to Italy, and I lived vicariously through their photos! Congratulations to the newlyweds!
