Spring is right around the corner, which means spring weddings will be in full swing soon. It’s time to dive into my official Columbus Spring Wedding Guide!
It’s no secret that spring weddings might be my favorite! All the trees and flowers start to bloom, and nature comes back to life, bringing all the spring colors. Those soft pastel color palettes are always so dreamy to photograph.
Spring Weather can be Unpredictable
A spring wedding in Ohio involves all types of weather, so you should be prepared. We all look forward to spring, but we also know Mother Nature can bring nice weather one day and cold the next. Of course, you’re hoping your spring wedding will be sunny and 75, but it’s imperative that you have a backup plan! If your ceremony is outdoors, you must confirm your wedding venue can accommodate both your ceremony and reception indoors in case of bad weather. As a wedding photographer, I prepare myself for all kinds of weather. I carry clear umbrellas in my car just in case it rains! This way, we can still get some dreamy portraits of the two of you outside.
Appreciate Spring’s Natural Beauty
Consider choosing a wedding venue with stunning natural scenery and amazing blooms. If the venue doesn’t have amazing outdoor views, ask your wedding photographer if they have any common areas to have cherry blossoms. The best places to find cherry blossoms in Ohio are Goodale Park in Columbus, Ault Park in Cincinnati, and Cleveland Museum of Art. Peonies are a common spring flower that is often incorporated in bouquets. They are light and whimsical flowers that symbolize love, romance, and happiness.
Spring Weddings are Popular
Springtime might be the most popular time for weddings. Because of this, wedding vendors book up fairly quickly! If you’re having a spring wedding, hiring your vendors sooner rather than later is essential. I know it might seem crazy to book vendors a year or two in advance, but if you have dream wedding vendors you want to work with, then do it!
The Best Ohio Wedding Venues in Spring
There are many beautiful wedding venues in Ohio! If you’re wondering what some of the best venues are in spring, here are some of my favorites: Cedar Springs Pavilion, Swan Lake Event Center, Ault Park, Kingwood Garden Center, and Nazareth Hall! Be sure to check all of them out because they’re stunning.
If you’re planning a spring wedding in 2023, be sure to start booking your vendors as soon as possible! We’re almost a year out, and some might already be reserved. Thankfully, I still have a handful of open weekends in the spring of 2023! I hope that this Columbus Spring Wedding Guide has given you some insight into planning your dream wedding. It’s important to me to educate and guide couples throughout their wedding planning process so they can have the wedding of their dreams!
I’d love to hear all about your wedding plans! Send me a message, and we can chat!
