A few weeks ago, I met up with Rachel and Tyler for their fall engagement pictures at Creekside Gahanna! This is one of my favorite locations for engagement sessions. There is so much variety to offer around the area. It was only fitting that we did their session in Gahanna because Rachel grew up in this area, and it’s where their wedding venue is!

Tyler and Rachel met through a mutual friend who set them up. They had been acquaintances for years, but they didn’t start talking until Rachel slid into his DM’s! They eventually went on their first date, and the rest is history! Both Rachel and Tyler attended Ohio State University, so it’s always fun to photograph fellow Buckeye alums! We even found out that Rachel and I both lived at the same apartment complex and ran into the same issue while living there.

They were supposed to have their big wedding last year, but they decided to change their plans because of the pandemic. They still got married last year in a small intimate backyard wedding. This year they’ll celebrate with all of their friends and family and get all of those amazing wedding photos that they weren’t able to get last year.

This summer, they went away on their big honeymoon, and it was so much fun to chat with them about it. They traveled to the Maldives and South Africa, and their trip sounds amazing!

As I’ve suggested to my brides, Rachel scheduled her hair and makeup trial for her engagement session, which is a great idea! If you’re not having a bridal session, this would be a great time to book your trial.
