Engagement Photos in Yellow Springs | Mackenzie + Jeffrey

Meeting Mackenzie and Jeffrey for their Yellow Springs engagement photos was such a blast! When I was younger, my dad and I would go to the fall street fair in Yellow Springs, and even back then, I thought it was such a cute town. The small-town charm hasn’t changed one bit! Jeffrey and Mackenzie have relocated here, so what better place than here to do their photos.
Mackenzie and I grew up in the same small town and had known of each other, but since we attended different schools, we had only met a few years ago. When my business turned two, she entered a giveaway that I did, and she was the lucky winner of a mini-session. It was perfect timing because she and Jeffrey had just celebrated their one-year anniversary at that time. Since then, they have followed me on Instagram and supported me.
When Jeffrey was coming up with a proposal plan, he had to be sneaky about it. He told Mackenzie that his mom won a photo shoot, but since her husband doesn’t like photos, she decided to give to them. Jeffrey knew that if he had hired me to photograph the proposal, she would instantly know what was happening. It was a sweet moment from the photos they showed me, and they totally caught her off guard!
We started their session at John Bryan State Park, where their precious pup, Canyon, joined us. After exploring around the park, we headed to Yellow Springs Brewery. These two enjoy going to breweries, and it would be fun for them to have a few photos at one. Capturing a couple doing activities they enjoy makes the images more authentic. They were truly in their element, from taking Canyon on a walk to sipping beer together. We spent the rest of the evening finding a few hidden gems around Yellow Springs that made for perfect backgrounds for their photos.
