Hollyoaks on the Marsh

Today I’m featuring another amazing Savannah GA outdoor wedding venue that I absolutely love – HollyOaks on the Marsh! This private estate is one of the best wedding venues in Savannah. With beautiful marsh and river views, large oak trees dripping with Spanish moss, and wedding day options abound. Think of this as your complete guide to planning a HollyOaks on the Marsh wedding from start to finish!

About HollyOaks on the Marsh:

Where it’s Located:

You’ll find this magical private estate only a few minutes from Downtown Savannah. It’s a quick 15-minute drive if you’re downtown and only 8 minutes from Interstate 95, which makes it convenient for all your guests. Upon arriving at the venue, you will see a black fence, as it is inside a gated community.

How to get Here:

Savannah, Georgia is a very popular location to have a destination wedding. If you’re coming from out of town or have several guests from out of town, it’s easy to travel into Savannah! Flying into the Savannah/Hilton Head International Airport is convenient, and Uber or renting a car can take you to hotels.

Why get Married at HollyOaks Savannah:

The estate has an atmosphere that evokes Lowcountry vibes the moment you arrive. Each wedding at this venue is completely unique since they specialize in customized weddings. Each Savannah GA outdoor wedding venue differs from the next, but I love how each will vary from the next at this particular venue. They only host ten weddings yearly, five in the spring and five in the fall, which allows you the location for the entire weekend, and you won’t have to worry about there being a wedding the day before or after. Below you will find out more information about hosting your wedding here!

18 Acres of Private Property:

There is a serenity to be found on the spacious grounds of this 1941 manor home. With the expansive property, you can have as many as 500 guests attend your wedding. There are incredible gardens on every corner you turn. To learn more about the whole story of this home, click here!

The Cottage at HollyOaks on the Marsh:

On the property, you will find an adorable cottage where you can stay for your wedding weekend. The night before your big day, you are welcome to stay here with your bridesmaids, and typically the couples stay here the night of their wedding. The Cottage has two bedrooms, making it comfortable for six people to sleep. It is also listed as an Airbnb rental, and you can learn more about it here.

Ceremony Space:

The ceremony space at HollyOaks is gorgeous. A grand oak tree was two trees and eventually grew into one. This tree is hundreds of years old and a cool representation of marriage, two becoming one, just like this tree. The florist you hire often creates a floral installation on the tree to give it some color. If you’re not doing a first look, the bride will come out of the home, walk down the staircase and greet her dad at the bottom. *Cue the tears as I can envision it now.*

Pristine Gardens:

Within the property are several different gardens, each with its own beauty. Garden in the Round has a cast iron bench that a 300-year-old live oak tree has grown around. From azaleas to camellias, the lush greenery will be beautiful no matter the season. The River Lawn and Bell Arch provides a large shaded area thanks to the canopy of Spanish Moss from the oaks. You can find a quaint fountain and fabulous florals at the English Garden. An elegant cocktail hour can take place in this space.

Savannah Wedding Reception at Hollyoaks:

The venue is perfect if you want a tented wedding reception, as there is plenty of space to accommodate as many tents as you need. HollyOaks has a preferred vendor list, but they have a tent company that they enjoy working with and are incredible. The views are incredible if you put the tent in the back of the estate. A tent for the reception is not required, but it is encouraged.

Wedding Weekends:

I’m all here for wedding weekends and letting your celebration last more than one day. When you choose HollyOaks as your venue, you’re guaranteed access from Thursday at 9 am to Monday at 2 pm—allowing you plenty of time for your wedding vendors to come and set up with amiable time and not rush anything. A few events that you can also consider having throughout the weekend are a welcome party, bridal luncheon, rehearsal event, and farewell breakfast.

Planner:

When hosting your wedding here, they require hiring a full-service wedding planner. Since you are planning a customized wedding day as a couple, many moving pieces will be booked with many vendors. Hiring a planner will allow you to rely on them heavily and hopefully not get you too stressed with wedding planning! Check out my list below of Savannah GA wedding planners that I recommend.

Important Things to Note About HollyOaks Savannah:

They do not provide chairs, tables, or linens; they want your wedding to be as unique as your love story. There is parking for up to 120 cars, but they highly encourage you to use a transportation service from the hotels where your guests stay. What better fashionable ride to show up to a wedding in Savannah than having your guests arrive in a trolley?!

HollyOaks on the Marsh Wedding Cost:

On their website, they’ve conveniently got an investment guide to see everything they offer with the venue rental. As I mentioned, your access to the venue starts the Thursday morning before your wedding and ends the following Monday. They can host up to 500 guests, but if you have more than 200, you’ll need to contact them directly. Inside the home, you’ll have a private bridal suite, a groom’s parlor, and a gathering room for the wedding party. You can stay in the Cottage for the wedding party or couple for four nights, and you’re welcome to use the Gardens for your engagement or bridal session. There is an unlimited amount of meetings on-site with your planner that you can have. All of this is an investment of $14,675.
