I’m super excited to share a new blog series featuring a central Ohio wedding vendor every two weeks! This is a different kind of blog writing for me, but this is an idea I’ve had on the back burner for awhile and finally decided to do it! I’ve got some amazing vendors that I highly suggest, and since engagement and booking season is among us, I thought this would be a great time to introduce this series. Today, I’m highlighting Le Reve Makeup & Hair.
Earlier this week, I caught up with Hanna, the owner of Le Reve, to learn more about her and her business. Growing up, she was more of a tomboy until high school when she joined the cheerleading squad. Because she was a cheerleader, she started doing her hair and makeup more often and it became a love of hers. She loved it so much, she moved to Chicago and go to school for makeup and hair. She had this dream of owning her own makeup and hair business and people thought she was crazy. Because Hanna absolutely loves Paris and everything French, she incorporated the French way of saying “the dream”, which is Le Reve for the name of her business.
For all of the brides-to-be, Hanna highly suggests doing a trial run for your hair and makeup before your wedding day. This is an important step for you to figure out what you like and what you don’t like for your big day. When she works with brides, she appreciates being sent inspiration pictures to determine the kind of look the bride desires. She also welcomes pictures of the brides dress, wedding venue, and a vision of her flowers. All of this gives her an idea of what the theme of the wedding day will be like. Hanna loves to work closely with brides about the look they’re wanting to establish. She asks them detailed questions about why they like one particular hairstyle, but not another one. She does this so she can get a really good understanding of what they are wanting and have a beautiful creation in mind for them.
Hanna offers hair and makeup for the bride. The starting price for a bride to get both her hair and makeup done is $300. She can also do hair and makeup for the mom, mother-in-law to be and bridesmaids for an additional charge.
In 2020, Hanna decided to open Le Reve Chataeu in Westerville, OH. The Chateau is a beautiful, well lit studio that she rents out. Hanna decided to open the Chataeu because this gives her an awesome place to work and just an overall fun atmosphere once she turns on some music and lights a candle. Le Reve is made up of 19 amazingly talented artists and I highly suggest that you book with them, if you are looking for a hair and makeup artist on your wedding day! Hanna is such a sweetheart and you would not regret working with her.
