Getting Married in the Midst of a Worldwide Pandemic

Getting Married in a Pandemic

As times are changing and wedding season is upon us, I wanted to share some ideas that I’ve been hearing buzz about in the wedding industry.

Mini weddings, micromonies, petite weddings or elopements…are all new & old ways of getting married right now considering the stay at home order or social distancing considerations.

We’re in a time of adjustment, yet some of you still want to get married…now!!! I say go for it! Maybe you decide to do a micro ceremony now and follow it up with a big wedding down the road, or maybe this crisis has given you reason to forgo any plans you had and you’ve chosen to elope in the near future. Elopements or small ceremonies can be super special with just your immediate family around. In the end, you are still marrying the love of your life and that’s what your wedding is all about!

One thing I have seen people do if they still decide to get married but can’t have all of their guests there is livestream it! You could always do Facebook live or even use Zoom. It might seem a little silly to livestream your wedding, but if you have loved ones who you want to witness you get married but they can’t make it, then I highly suggest using something so that friends and family can still watch you get married!

Whatever you’re considering, I’m here for your photog needs. My summer internship plans have changed and I will be in Ohio this summer. So, let’s chat and see how I can help make your wedding day magical, no matter how big or small!

Curious what an elopement could look like? Check out pictures from Grant and Hannah’s Elopement at Franklin Park Conservatory I did last year!
