Engagement Photos Columbus Ohio | Claire & Jake
German Village Engagement Session
Roaming the brick streets of the charming little town of German Village with Claire and Jake was a fun way to spend my evening! Claire and I are both obsessive dog moms, and we get along so well that I just have a feeling we’ll be friends forever! I love how their German Village engagement photos turned out, making me even more excited for their wedding day.
These two met at an Ohio State campus bar, as Jake worked there, but Claire would go there with her friends and always noticed this cute bartender. During her junior year, that bar closed, but another one with the same owners opened, and she got a job there. Jake and Claire were friends for a while, and then they started dating.
Jake decided to propose at the Columbus Zoo Christmas light show a few years later. A group of friends always goes with them each year. Before walking through the lights, they went to take their picture in the same spot they always do, but this time he got down on one knee. To Claire’s surprise, her family was there watching.
Their Engagement Photo Attire:
We decided to explore German Village for their engagement photos because it was full of gorgeous homes with various architectural styles. The first outfits that Claire and Jake wore were super cute, and she did a great job coordinating them. Claire wore a neutral-colored shirt with florals and paired it with pink velvet shorts, and Jake matched her in a neutral-colored long-sleeve shirt.
German Village has some magical spots for photos, and even a few areas make me feel like I’m in Savannah. The sunlight came perfectly through the trees during our walk down an alley. If you want a city feel to your engagement photos without the hustle and bustle, I recommend German Village, which is usually lowkey.
For their second outfit, I was obsessed with the dress and heels that Claire chose. The dress was a light blue, with adorable bows on the shoulder, and you can never go wrong with Badgley Mischka shoes (they make beautiful wedding shoes as well!) Jake wore a long-sleeved dress shirt with a pair of khaki pants to coordinate with her outfit.
Toward the end of their session, they popped a bottle of champagne and brought along two glasses to sip some of the champagne. This was such a fun way to end their session!
I’m so excited for their wedding later this year, where they’re having their wedding reception at Cliffside Acres. They’ve hired fantastic wedding vendors, and I know it will be an incredible wedding day! Until then, here are some of my favorites from their German Village engagement photos!
