Chicago

This past weekend, my friend Sierra and I went to the Windy City for spring break!! It was seriously so much fun. Last year we went for one day and explored the big city and took so many pictures. We had so much fun last year that we decided to go back this year. Looking back at the pictures I took last year, are a little embarrassing but at the time I thought they were amazing. I was super excited to see how my photos turned out this time.

We arrived early Saturday morning in Chicago. That afternoon we met and spent time with our new friend, Nicole, from Nicole Jansma Photography. We found her through a Facebook group for fellow creatives. I am so glad that we could meet up with her! Our conversation was very beneficial, as well as reassuring. After chatting a few hours, we went over to Millennium Park to take head shots of each other. The skyline was perfect for these! That night for dinner we went to Gino’s East for pizza, and it was AMAZING!! Chicago pizza is always the best.

The next day, we went to Olive Park, which was by the Lake. It had beautiful views of the skyline but as well as the water. After spending some time there and taking hundreds of pictures, we walked over to Navy Pier. We ate lunch at Margaritaville on the Pier, and then after lunch we walked around the planetarium for some more pictures. After that, we took a taxi to the riverfront and finished up some head shots for the day. For dinner we went to a very yummy Italian restaurant right by the water! Once we were done with dinner, we decided to go back to the hotel and grab our cameras and we explored some of the city near our hotel and tried out some night pictures! Bowling was next on our list, and it was so fun (even though I’m not the best at bowling)!

On Monday, before we left our hotel, Sierra and I decided to take some pictures in our hotel room just to see what they would look like, and I am so glad that we did! The lighting in there was perfect, and the window made for some really cool shots! We headed to have breakfast at Kanela Breakfast Club, and it was delicious! After that, we went to The Escape Game. Believe it or not we escaped with only 14 seconds left! Once we were done there, we headed to our hotel to get all of our luggage and head for home.

It was an amazing trip that I will remember for a lifetime! I am so glad to have Sierra in my life who shares the passion for photography and loves to explore taking pictures as much as I do. Sierra created a video from our trip, and if you would like to watch it, you can do that here!
